Bat care 1956 style

Richard and Geraldine have just sent me an article from The Countyman published in Autumn 1956 .nsmail-28

Things were, how shall I say, different then. Anyone who knows bats may suffer from a number of sharp intakes of breath. (the author doesn’t for example wear gloves, but that is the least of it ) My favourite bit is ” he liked custard and chocolate” Be warned Noccy the Noctule meets a terrible fate. The author’s description  is, however, lovely.
