Lakeside Survey Thursday 9th May

Art Work from the Victorian vampire Facebook page

We eyed the weather forecast with trepidation as rain was forecast and we wanted to give two people a chance to hand net, but fortune was on our side and the rain held off (more or less)  so we were able to trap a few soprano pipistrelles leaving the roost. There were over 300 there in total . The local Nathusius ,knowing we weren’t  trapping ,were flying around too. Bet they’ll be absent on trapping night. Thanks to Chantal and Phil who replaced a poorly Dick and Geraldine at short notice.
