Coming home to roost

Drawing by Joan Childs

We are delighted to report that after an absence of two years the pipistrelles are back in their roost at Priory Country Park. The building they roost in had to be repaired and ,although the builders took great care with the work which was supervised by a bat worker, the bats did not return. This might have been because some hornets snuck in before they could get there.  But whatever the reason we are delighted to have them back.At its height  we counted over a hundred there. We hope that the numbers increase again over the years.

Welcome home bats
