Earlier this year we reported the bat group celebrating John and Ann Adams’ twenty fice years of counting bats at their common pipistrelle roost, which you will remember featured a lot of cake. http://www.bedsbatgroup.org.uk/wordpress/?p=5755
We think this is one of the most closely monitored roosts in the UK and wanted to mark this anniversary in some way
Yesterday some of us decamped to their house for another celebration. We managed to gather several founding members of the bat group as well as some of John’s close friends in order to present John with a book of photos taken during the 25 years and a copy of every annual report that was written over the past 25 years. His family insisted on providing tea and cakes for the occasion and managed to all the preparation without John twigging what was about to happen.
Here’s to many more year’s of pipistrelle watching.
