Sandy Warren

Bluebells at The Lodge

Photo RSPB.

Twelve of us descended on Sandy Warren last night to try out the new route. The bats responded in kind by being present in copious amounts. We hears common and soprano pips, Noctules, Myotis and  more than a dozen Barbastelle passes. We think there may have been a couple more species present but must wait until Tony and Aidan analyse the recordings they made. Tony was trying out his sparkly new Griffin and Bill was hypnotised by it and by Aidan’s EM3. I think Lesley may weaken and let him treat himself to a new toy

Once again the Gatehouse was a blaze of lights. Hopefully this isn’t dissuading the long eared bats from roosting there
