Maulden Wood Open Day

Bob and Jude headed off to this event on Bank holiday Monday, held by the Greensand Trust

Children from the local school had done drawings which had been turned into pennants. The drawings were based on the wildlife they had been told about or had sen in the wood. Alas there was no bat – they visited during the day – but I just adored this drawing of a dormouse.

The event was nicely low key so we had plenty of time to answer queries. There was a lot of interest in the Kent Bat boxes and several people headed off with instructions for the Kent Bat Box. (You can download these from our bat box page)

We also had a long chat with a local watch leader and are currently arranging a bat walk for her group, so it was a day well spent
