Rain stops play

Last night was due to be our last Nathusius survey of the year. It needs care trapping this near to hibernation as bats are busy feeding up before the winter. We always take care to monitor traps at regular short intervals to cause as little disruption as possible.

In the light of the dreadful weather earlier this week, the decision was made not to disturb them as they were unlikely to have been able to forage in the downpour for severaldays. So they will now be left in peace until next year. Sleep tight Nathusius. See you next year ( we hope)
