Data Requests

Created October 2011

The Bedfordshire Bat group maintains a  computer database of bat records collected in the county going back over twenty years.  This currently contains well over 6000 records.

If you are a consultant requiring data for a planning application, please contact us.

Please delete the (2011) before you send the emails

We ask that you do not send large files of maps of the area you require information as this blocks our inbox and will prevent us responding to your request.

If you give us a grid reference or the tetrad(s) you are interested in, we will give you details of our charges for retrieving this data and producing a report. There is no need to send a large map file.

The money raised from data searches is used to fund the purchase of equipment such as bat detectors and recorders so we can extend the amount of data we collect.

In the last three years we have been targeting tetrads for which we have no records. and have now managed to get records from most of them.

Bat Surveys for planning applications
The Bedfordshire Bat group is unable to take these on and you should contact an appropriately qualified  professional consultant. For a list of consultants working locally who have trained bat workers who can do survey please click here
