More number crunching
In 2018 we put more emphasis on repeated walked or driven transects e.g. Sandy Warren, Pegnut Wood, Whipsnade Zoo We plan to continue this trend in 2019 and already have volunteers to do repeated surveys in an area.
More number crunching
One of our ongoing projects is Pinpoint Bat. In its second year the kind of survey carried out changed a bit , with more surveys covering an area two or three times a season. Once again we got some very … Continue reading
Friday 18th May
John and Bob did another Pinpoint Bat expedition. We realised that Dick sets his thresholds of the Peersonic with almost identical results as Bob. To inve4stigate which threshold is better. John and Bob used two different thresholds. Now all(?) that … Continue reading
Pinpoint Bat
Dave Parsons has done three more surveys. We have just downloaded 1136 files. Hoping they are not all crickets This is the highest total we have as yet had. This damp weather would seem to make bats come out. Bob … Continue reading

One person bioblitz at Harrold Odell
Pinpoint Bat did its first bioblitz at Harrold Odell Country Park. Nicky borrowed for Pinpoint Bat kits and used her own detector and the two bat group Griffins and set them up in the park. She left them overnight. When … Continue reading
Bat walk at Bedford Cemetery
Last Thursday Bob and Nicky did a bat walk at Bedford Cemetery. People were blown away watching pips in flight. Thanks for the very generous donation.; Much appreciated! Of course Bob couldn’t resist making a Pinpoint Bat recording
Analysing Pinpoint Bat
At one point over the weekend we had all four detectors out. We had one returned and spent quite a time slogging through the 612 files. The survey was in a place we have never been and we identified several … Continue reading
