This has now been renamed Rushmere Country Park, but we are keeping the old name to avoid you going up to\u00a0 the Rushmere entrance.

A pleasant stroll around water bodies & woodland with bat detectors, while keeping a record of bat activity. A great way to get fresh air in the dark, learn more and see the bats in action. One of the best sites in the county.Comfy walking shoes and a torch are recommended. We provide bat detectors. Surveys are open to non members<\/span>,

We are looking at Daubenton Activity differences between two ponds on site<\/p>\n

The activity differs between the two ponds quite a lot. They are different habitats and we want to see what the pattern is like in 2020 and see if we can identify possible reasons for the difference.<\/p>\n

We’re always on the look out for more pair of eyes and ears No specialised equipment or previous experience is needed. You don’t need to be a world authority on bat biology. You’ll quickly develop the skills needed and you’d help us to learn more about Bedfordshire’s bats,but you please book with Gwen\u00a0 to be sure of getting access to a bat detector. We usually have a few spares with us in any case, but you MUST be punctual.,so we can let you in a the gate is closed.We are monitoring several ponds on the site, so the more the merrier.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>After leaving the A5\u00a0at the Flying Fox roundabout, head towards Heath and Reach. Just before the village, turn right towards Great Brickhill. The park is situated about 1\/2 mile along this road. If you’re coming from the west, then it is easier to come via Leighton Buzzard. Turn towards Woburn, along North Street. This then becomes Heath Road after a few hundred yards. Continue on through Heath and Reach, turning left as soon as you leave the village. The turning is opposite the bus stop (map and instructions courtesy of the Greensand Trust)<\/p>\n
