Trinidad 2011

Created Oct 2011

In March 2011 two of us were lucky enough to go on a bat expedition organised by Daniel Hargreaves led Trinidad naturalist Geoffrey Gomes

We might look bored but we had been up all night at this point. Photo Jude Hirstwood

In an action packed week we were able to see some 35 species of bat,  of wich we were able to photograph while they were being processed.

My thanks to Keith Cohen for some tips on how to fine tune my Lumix camera so that I got some recent pictures,

One of the high spots was the sight of Sam’s improvised diffuser which consisted of a polystyrene tray used for putting chips in. No one laughed when we saw the quality of photos he got.

Most of the time we were working really hard, but there were moments when we could take things easy for a while and check photos or get some bat reading done
