Friday saw us return to the serotine roost. This time we took the harp trap and lure with us. The serotines were not interested and none of the 14 bats which emerged went anywhere near it.We had fantastic views of the bats silhouetted against the sky. The disappointment was not compensated for even when the home owner finding a maggot ridden dead stoat in a flowerbed.
Once the young are flying we will be back, the seortines are doubtless indifferent to our determination!
