Saturday’s Guardian had an article about the RSPB headquarters at Sandy having installed a new wind turbine.

Most wind turbine damage seems to be caused when the blades are moving slowly, and this turbine has been built to turn off in these conditions.
The Bat Group has been monitoring Sandy Warren for some years now and for the last two years given that this turbine was being built we have surveyed a route adjacent to the field in which the turbine was installed. We shall continue to monitor the same route this year to see if there is any impact on the bats we find. This survey is open to non members.
