We have been part of the National Nathiusius project since it began. Many groups are finding many bats. We have not been so lucky and catch only 2 or 3 a year.
Last week we joined the Widlife Trust on a survey at Begwary Brook in the north of the county. The weather forecast was not good and we fully expected to have to pack up early, but the rain held off.
Jodie was able to fulfil her dream of processsing bats as we let her do all 16!.
These were common and soprano pips but we also caught a Natterer’s and a male Nathusius.
If the weater holds we are off to Felmersham later this week.
