Another successful night at Stockgrove. As well as lots of common and soprano pips, Daubenton’s and Noctules. We found several bats in boxes. We were able to identify and count out several brown long eareds. Another box had us stumped. We knew it had Myotis in, but coludn’t tell whether they were Daubenton’s or Natterer’s. We left Viv and Malcolm by the box. Only a few of the bats emerged. Viv recorded them but the bats were playing hard to get. As is not uncommon they maintained their silence as they emerged , which means we were unable to solve the mystery.
