Bat sounds in a hibernation site

As mentioned earlier we put an SMTĀ  detector into one of the hibernation sites at Whipsnade

This is a recording of a Natterer’s Bat flying around inside the hibernaculum You can see the echolocation calls bouncing off the walls

 

But there were also some social calls

This one if slowed down by a factor of ten makes a screaming sound that wouldn’t go amiss in a horror film
