Citizen scientists

Not a piece of jargon I had come across before, but apparently this is what volunter bat workers are. Was interviewed by phone with an American researcher today. She seemed amazed at how many different things bat groups do in the UK, and how many nutters there are who spend their time in damp woods.  I told her about the Bat Conservation Trusts National Bat Monitoring Programme and she seemed very impressed
