Bat call in Dunstable

A call from the National Bat helpline sent us to a house in Dunstable where a bat flew out of the cavity wall when a window was being replaced. Builders know they must stop work if they find a bat in these circumstances, but the householders were doing it themselves. and didn’t realise. Martin went over yesterday to check all was OKĀ  and that no bats were stuck in the cavity wall. Fortunately there was still a gap into the cavity wall so that any remaining bats could escape when they woke up from hibernation. If you find a bat in these circumstances contact the National Bat Helpline on 0845 1300 228, and they will contact a volunteer who can come and give advice
