Grounded brown long eared bat in Maulden

The recent appalling weather has made things difficult for the bat group recently. An attempt to mist net in Luton was postponed and then rained on. It would seem likely that bats are being affected by the poor weather.  The rain drops make it hard to echolocate and any self respecting insect will be sheltering from the downpours.We got called out to a grounded brown long ear bat at Maulden yesterday. It appears uninjured but we suspect that the poor weather may have made insects hard to come by. The bat is is now being looked after by Simon.by Simon.
