Dead juvenile Brown long eared bat

We have already saidĀ  that there are a lot of juvenile bat casualties this year. Dick and Geraldine were visiting a church in Buckinghamshire on August 3rd and found a dead juvenile bat. This was a young animal who had yet to develop its fur.

Dick and GeraldineĀ  took a series of photos which they has passed onto the North Bucks Bat Group.

It is not always easy to identify juvenile bats, but we think this one is a brown long eared

Had it survived it would have grown into a rather more elegant creature
