Daniel is a great friend of the Bedfordshire Bat Group. (and many other bat groups) You will find many of his splendid photos on this website and he has been unfailingly generous with his time since we got to know him. Some of us have been lucky enough to travel with him to see bats. All of us wish we had ten percent of his energy He has also been great at building informal links between many bat workers in this country and abroad.
Being awarded the Pete Guest Award was a very popular choice (It is voted for by bat people) and his acceptance speech was typically modest, and could leave no one in any doubt that this award was richly deserved.
