Talk for Ravensden WI

On Tuesday we did a talk for Ravensden WI and took John who has offered to help us do talks along. While Jude was talking Bob who has heard her speak many many times before, escaped outside to listen for bats. Unfortunately it was a very cold and windy evening and there was practically nothing flying, so he was forced back inside. After the talk he and John showed the captive noctule off to the members and as per usual she stole the show. This time of year if she were in the wild she would be thinking about going into hibernation and as a result has a voracious appetite. We give her the option of hibernating in previous years but she has so far turned it down. One of the WI members was keen to know which bats she has in her gardens and we have said that we can ask one of our group who lives in Ravensden to pay a visit next season. (Haven’t told him this yet!)
