Last night the bat group survey leaders met at The Hub in Ampthill Park. Everyone had had a look at the season’s data and it was fascinating to see patterns emerging. It was also quite daunting to realise how much we had achieved despite the awful weather .
After a break for tea and cake, we then sat down to think what we wanted to do next year, and the ideas flowed fast and furious. Our work with Lia Gilmour from Bristol university attracted a lot of interest from members and we plan to build on this work next year. We are also going to have a go at finding roost trees in Harrold Odell Country Park, Stockgrove Country Park and Kings Wood. This will keep us out of mischief until the bats wake up,
Now all we have to do is get on with writing all this up!
