Bat Care – time for release

With the weather being so cold, we have been delaying releasing our winter captives. After recent improvements in weather Bat Carer Simon has begun to let his house guests free- after a bit of a struggle

“Brown Long Eared I acquired during winter released tonight! Spend 45 mins flying around the living room before she would finally rest. Will hopefully get the Soprano pip released tomorrow….that just leaved the Noctules…..hmmmm”

Regular readers will know he is also caring for a Noctule and her male pup. Plans are in hand to use the flight cage/polytunnel again to give mum flight practice and Junior an opportunity to develop his flight and feeding skills.

I did say to Simon that he was tempting fate by admiktting he had some spare capacity now. he devil makes work for idle hands!
