First Stockgrove survey

PHOTO: Bob Cornes

Anyone would think we had been looking forward to  the new season. No fewer than 12 members came out to play. The bats  obviously felt sorry for us and we heard soprano and common pips, saw Daubenton’s over the lake and a Noctule flying overhead

We checked the bat boxes,  expecting them to be empty and w ere pleasantly surprised to find 3 boxes with pips and one with a Brown Long Eared .

After the survey a handsome toad watched  us leave.
