We are planning a new bat box project, with permission of the landowner, after PhD student Kieron O’Malley found a new large barbastelle roost in a Bedfordshire wo0d We ordered 10 large bat boxes back in January because we knew there was a serious shortage. We were told they would not be available until late August. This meant we would not be able to start the project this season.
Last week we were told they were ready for delivery and soon five large boxes were delivered to a very small house until they could be passed on to some one who had storage space
The next step is to decide with the woodland manager where to put them which is due to happen on Thursday
