am getting very behind again as we are very busy
We had a very successful bat box survey at King’s Wood Heath & Reach on Sunday 7th 43 boxes checked, of which 5 had bats. A total of 43 BLEs and one Common Pip. Eight of the BLEBs were ringed, including several ringed in 2014 as adults – which means that they are at least ten years old.
We also had some superb views of bluebells and other woodland features.
Thanks to all those who came along and helped. (Ph0to by Matt)
This was taken by Bob with a thermal imager and shows a volunteer checking a box for bats. There was a ladder, really! It didn’t show up in the imager because it was the same temperature as the surroundings.
