First Stockgrove Park survey of the season.

April 1st is the official start of the bat season and we made a good start yesterday when we did out first Stockgrove Park  survey. We had five species of bat – soprano and common pipistrelles, brown long eared bats in the boxes, Daubenton’s over the lake and, best of all,  a rare barbastelle bat was heard late in the evening. No sign of the Noctules yet, maybe next time. It was nice to be out in the evening again
