Amidst all the chaos our usual surveys continue with their usual seamless efficiency. Each of our regular surveys has its own co-ordinator so while some of us are haring about after barbastelles, these sail effortlessly on.

Below are Geraldine’s notes

“Wardown is probably the best place we go to when it comes to numbers and views of Common Pipistrelles. The bat boxes that are still there on the trees are not being used by bats as far as we could tell, most of the Kent boxes have cobwebs in them. The Suspension Bridge is currently boarded up, so our route takes us over the Southern Bridge which always seems to attract a large amount of bat activity.”
